I have been looking for songs to walk down the aisle to at my wedding. The first time I heard it I knew it was the one. I was working and it came on the radio. I was hooked to the words. It was perfect. It described my father and I to a T. If you have been following our story, this is a continuation blog about the category of “Meeting the Love of your Life.”

There are so many different wedding aisle songs to choose from. Check these other ideas out here.

I have typed up her lyrics here along with the story behind the song for me.

In My Daughter’s Eyes by Martina McBride

In my daughter’s eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter’s eyes

Story behind this section: My dad has always been a big hero in my eyes. He has helped rescue me when my car broke down. It is scary being alone when you are in a car somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, without a cell phone. There was a time without cell phones, you know. I had to trust a nearby house and ask them if I could use their phone to call my daddy to come and get me and my car. Now because he has taught me how to change a tire, and many other things about cars, I know how to fix things myself. This helps me feel “strong and wise and I know no fear..” I know my dad is who he is too, because of my influence on him. What man hasn’t changed when a baby girl enters his life? I almost tear up just typing this blog reminiscing. It was all I could do to walk down the aisle listening to the song.

In my daughter’s eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter’s eyes

Story behind this section: I was always raised to care for others. So many people throughout my life (including strangers) tell me I am always so happy and smiling. I have been taught to see the positive in everything. For that, I am very thankful to both my mom and dad. We grew up with not much money, but my parents would never let us know that. We thought we were rich because of how positive they were and how they treated us. I am happy to say that my father has been an inspiration to me as many times as I have helped him have “strength when I am weak…”And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

Story behind this section: It is the little touches that can mean so much to many. Physical touch is powerful. “Any when she wraps her hand around my finger” reminds me of the many times when I still hug my daddy tightly. He has been there so many times in my life from a baby till now. I know he has a big cheesy grin because of the warmth in the touch between us and the bond there. He is reminded of why I love him, and vice versa. Life really is all about caring for the ones who first cared for you. It’s hangin’ on when your heart
has had enough
It’s giving more when you feel like giving up
I’ve seen the light
It’s in my daugter’s eyes

Story behind this section: We have had some tough times together. We were all teenagers once going through our rebellion stage. When I slammed the doors to my bedroom because I as angry, it always ended with him giving me time to think about things, then using it as a teachable moment “giving more when you feel like giving up,” and talking through the problems with me. I am forever grateful of learning these skills for life and business today. Or when you have your first break-up with a boyfriend. You think the world is ending, but get the talk about “there is more fish in the sea. You are worth more.” Invaluable lessons from my dad. He was the first man and love of my life. Now, when my dad feels like “giving up” I know I will be there as his “light.”In my daughter’s eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she’ll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I’m gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I’ll be there
In my daughter’s eyes

Story behind this section: Who are you to your children? What do you want them to remember you for? If you were to write your kids a “Message to the Future” letter, what would you say? Reminisce with your child years later with a decorative Baby Time Capsule. Keep their memories and mementos in the time capsule. Then in 20 to 40 years re-open the time capsule and relive what life was like when your baby was first born.

I am a reflection of my father in many ways. I am sure you can relate. I have his determination, passion, longing to constantly learn, playfulness, entrepreneurial heart and drive, good looks (Ha Ha – just kidding), love for others, and other quirks. What did you pass on to your children?

Ask yourself, how are my babies “a reflection of who I am and what will be?” It was hard moving out of my parent’s house, when I grew up, but I knew I had to. It was time to start a new journey. New memories only come, when you let go and move on. My husband and father are very close and very similar. It is a rare honor to marry someone as close to my father as Mark (my husband) is. For that reason, my father will always be there.

Ways to Honor, Remember, and Celebrate Our Presidents

It is a day to honor, remember, and celebrate. It’s President’s Day. I am sure some of you are ready to go out shopping to get your great deals. President’s Day is also important to celebrate for other reasons. I know not everyone likes our current president. We are not here to get in a big debate about everything going right or wrong. No matter what, honestly, I cannot imagine the pressures of being the president. This President’s Day, we are going to focus on creative ways to honor, remember, and celebrate our presidents over time.

President’s Day is a perfect time to reflect on the past. History is important so that we do not make the same mistakes twice. We want to learn from those who have gone before us, from those who lead us, and from those who are making an impact in the world. I was one of those students who used to sit in my history classes, thinking, “when does this class end?” Now, as I am older, I have a deep respect for history and wish I payed attention more in class. Sometimes it can be helpful to find creative ways to make learning fun and memorable.

Time Capsules Teach

Have kids write what they think it would be like to be the president. Interview your own family members and ask them what they remember about the presidents when they grew up? How was the world different in the past, with those presidents. President’s Day is a time to reconnect and reminisce about the leaders who have changed this country. My parents always taught me the importance of honoring our leaders. One fun way to do that is through a time capsule.

A time capsule is all about reminiscing about our past. The time capsule could be used as a teaching tool for parents and teachers in school. Help the kids create a history timeline about the past presidents. For a creative example of this, check out this link.

Leaders Teach about Positive Traits

Leaders, like our presidents can teach us all about positive traits we should aspire to have. What better way to teach your kids about positive virtues and characteristic traits are important to have, to make an impact in this world or to better themselves in the future. As you teach about these important traits, you can help your child dress up like our great presidents in the past using old toilet paper rolls, seen in the picture above. Have fun bonding as a family, and teaching your child about history at the same time. What traits would you like to see in your child? Who in their lives are influencing them for the better? Teach your kids to constantly find friends and adult to be around who are wise, educated, positive influences, etc.

What to Make and Put in a President’s Day Time Capsule

Have kids answer questions about President’s Day on fun worksheets, or write an essay about what they think the President does all day. You could also have the kids talk about what they think the future world will look like, and how the President will run the country. Have the kids write a letter to the president. You may be surprised by some of the answers, depending on the age of the child. Can you imagine what the reaction of that child would be years in the future, when the President’s Day Time Capsule was opened by their elementary teacher, who then mailed their old essays to the adults 20 years later to read? It is amazing how different we think as children, compared to when we are adults. Save these fun letters, worksheets, essays, and kids crafts in the time capsule. Also save other mementos and memorabilia to open 20, 30, or 50 years later. It will be interesting to see which kids predictions come true about future presidents when the time capsule is opened in the future. Get your own “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule today to make your own President’s Day Time Capsule or a time capsule for any other topic or event you want.

Conducting Your Own Memorial Service

The picture above is a beautiful scene of a nighttime celebration of life, releasing sky lanterns for their loved one lost. How emotionally touching is this view?

Growing up in a family owned business, that deals with the casket industry has always caused me to think about those less unfortunate, those who have lost a loved one, and those who have a hard time letting go.

It really is true, that you do not know what you have until it is gone. I have heard many sad stories of family members arguing with each other while trying to work with the funeral director to pick out which casket they want. My family never dealt with the families. We only worked with the funeral directors themselves. Sometimes the poor funeral directors have seen and heard so much, that they just have to tell someone else the stories. Unfortunately my mother, who is a great listener and secretary of our family owned Casket manufacturing company, was the one who got to listen to their stories about the families.

We at The Original Time Capsule company want to say that we are listening to your problems and are trying to find ways to solve them. We have heard from funeral directors that there are not many ways for families to remember their loved ones in a tangible way, once they are gone.

Preserve Loved Ones Old Letters

What advice did your grandfather always tell you as a child? What was the funniest story he ever told you? How do you remember your grandmothers famous apple crumb pie recipe once she is gone (especially if she made it from scratch)? What do you do with all those old war letters that your dad wrote back and forth to your mom before they were married? These are just a few of the questions that are important to treasure to pass on to your grandchildren and their children of the future. So how do you do that?

Use Social Media to Share your Story

With so many more funeral homes taking advantage of the internet and social media world, it is important for funeral homes to have other new and upcoming ways to help families grieve and remember a loved one. This is why so many funeral homes are now including dedicated pages on their websites, for family members to fill out messages of hope, condolences, and stories of the past of loved ones who have gone on to rest in peace.

Set Up a Personalized Celebration of Life Ceremony

How does a funeral home truly set up a memorial service, when they really do not know the person? How do you help that family truly create a celebration of life for their loved one? Families need a tangible way to memorialize their loved one. Set up a uniquely personal tribute to your loved one, and let the family work through the process of grief, by decorating a table with several heirloom memories, like your grandfather’s old pocket watch. Set out note cards for family and friends to fill out and tell a short story or memory about the deceased loved one, to pass on to the family to read later. Many times it is hard for some to go to a viewing, or let go, so a great way to help someone say goodbye, is by letting them write a letter to their deceased loved one. Many people tell you to “just get over it.” You never really ‘get over it,’ but instead grief is a process or journey if you will that will either make you better or bitter.

Create a Memorial Time Capsule

You can set up memory boards, candles, and wreaths, but what do you do with it all when it is done? Don’t just stand in a line to say your goodbye at a viewing, then leave. Don’t just help take care of the family during that next week by bringing them a meal already cooked. Do something extra to let the family know how much you appreciated that loved one in your life, or to say thank you to the loved one who passed. The loved one who is now gone, can be kept alive by keeping his or her legacy life alive. So how do you do that?

Set up a memory table similar to the one here, with special tangible items on it. Then also add a personalize Legacy Time Capsule on it, for family members and friends to put there cards, words of encouragement, and sentimental items of their loved one in. You can get an “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule here, then put a photo of your loved one on the outside of this luxury tin, to preserve all these treasured memories in.

During the holidays it is always hard to celebrate, be happy, and open gifts, without that special someone there anymore. This is especially hard if your loved one passed on a particular holiday. Reopen the time capsule on that holiday, hold one of their tangible mementos or memorabilia, to help you get through this difficult time of year. The time capsule is meant to help with this problem, and keep your loved one alive more so than just in your heart. Revive your memories today of your loved one.

So if you had the opportunity to keep one sentimental item from your grandfather, father, or any loved one who has passed, what would it be? Comment below.

Have you ever wanted to write a message to the future letter to yourself? It sat in my closet for years. I don’t even remember what is in it. Do you remember making a time capsule as a kid in elementary school? Do you know what ever happened to your own time capsule?

How have you changed over the past years? What has affected you in life to make those changes? What advice would you give to others or your own children or grandchildren about life today? A time capsule is a great place to save that advice, so when your loved one is of a specific age, you can give them the time capsule filled with your valuable insight about life.

Write Letters of Advice

When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone you love? Remember that feeling of receiving an actual letter in the mail, rather than email? Technology is amazing, don’t get me wrong here. I would not be able to stay up to date with the life of my aunts, uncles, and cousins in Texas if we did not have social media and email. However, there is nothing like receiving a personalized note or letter in the mail.

What to Do with Your Accumulating Wisdom

So as we all grow up, we accumulate more wisdom on a daily basis. So what is your view on life? What mistakes have you made that you do not want your children or grandchildren to make? What success have you had and what steps did you take to get there? Most importantly, do not ever forget to tell your loved one how much you love them in a letter. You never know what can happen to your life, unfortunately.

Don’t Wait Until You are Gone to Be Remembered

Pass on your legacy today. There are many different ways to share your wisdom in life to your children and grandchildren. How else do you know what you have in common with your grandparents or great grandparents, if they never share their stories with you?

Topics to Write About in your own “Message to the Future” Letter

1. Favorite recipe and how you created it or who it has been passed down from.

2. Teach a skill, like fishing, fixing something on your house, or how to advance yourself at your job. The ideas are limitless. Share your gifts and talents with your children and grandchildren.

3. Talk about your family tree and use one or two words to describe the personalities of each person.

4. Pretend like you are going through family interview questions, and talk about your own biography. Many people’s lives are so fascinating, but you will never know about them if these stories are not written out. Talk about what life was like when you were young.

5. Talk about what clothes you wore as a kid, or what you did for fun when you were bored.

Make a Bigger Connection and Add Personal Mementos and Memorabilia to Your Time Capsule

Finally, add more tangible items to your time capsule, along with these sentimental letters. I am sure you have a box somewhere or a storage container in your attic with items that can help tell your life story. What do you want to pass on to your children or grandchildren that you want preserved forever? By passing on your memories, you are making sure you will never be forgotten about.

Do not wait until it is too late to pass on your life story. It will be the most memorable and lasting gift you can give to your children or grandchildren. Check out this other helpful article about Five Ways to Pass on Wisdom to Younger Generations.

Tips to Share Your Life Story

When working in the counseling field with several children, teenagers, and young adults, I was able to hear many different stories. Telling your story can be so freeing. Also telling your story can make a moment of excitement be even more fun. Your story is important.

Learn more about how to write your life story or memoir here.

1. Think about what to write.

Go through old photo albums and look around your home. What represents who you are? Even your clothes and the colors in your home help describe you and your life story. Gather tangible items that mean a lot to you. Start writing down a few sentences about those memorable treasures around you. Think about everything in your past that has helped shape who you are today. Ask friends and family what words they think best describes you. Put together your own autobiography.

2. Think about milestone moments in your life.

Start writing down one or two words that describe milestone moments in your life. Start writing sentences using these words. Do not worry about being perfect, because that is what makes you, you. You can even write with the intent of writing to your future self and where you want to be in life 10 or 20 years from now. This is a great way to get in the mindset of talking about life lessons, and what you would want to pass on to your children or grandchildren. This is the whole point of the “Message to the Future” letters included with the “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule. What a great keepsake gift to treasure for years.

3. Make a list of all your successes and failures in life.

A list can help us make sure we covered our main points in our life story. As you write your paragraphs in your life story, check off the success or failure. Remember we are all human, so it is ok if we made mistakes in or life. Push yourself to use your stories to help better your life, or help someone else now. It will be rewarding in the end. Pay it forward.

So again, tell us one or two sentences that would describe your life story in the comments below.

How to Make a Memory Book for Grandparents

This is a continuation of our blog posts discussing, who all can use a time capsule. Time capsules are not just for the receiver, but for the giver who created it too. Grandparents are special people in this world, filled with treasured stories to tell us all. They are filled with so much wisdom.

When you make a time capsule about your life, your grandchildren gain understanding and insight as to why you are filled with your wisdom. It will be pure joy to save special paperwork or projects your grandchildren made on their own, for you. Time capsules help bring together many families and close the generational differences and/or geographic distance.

One special day, my cousins, aunts, uncles, and my parents decided to make the most special gift we have ever given my grandmother. She is one of the funniest, sweetest, and wisest woman you will ever meet. She has a lot of stories herself about life during the ‘good old days.’ We wanted to give back to her in a creative way, and make it something that would be remembered for years to come in the future. This is the point of our time capsules, to give back all these stories for generations to come.

How to Make a Grandparent’s Memory Book or Scrapbook

Luckily, we have a few creative people in our family, and we all communicate well. So, each family member was mailed decorative card stock paper in different sizes, like index cards. We were each assigned to think of sentimental stories, funny sayings, or fun memories we all remember Grandma saying or doing with us in years past.

The family profile really started to fill in quick, as we started to hear past stories about what my father did with his mother and brother when he was younger. This was such a great bonding moment for us all. This is also a great way to make sure your family heritage is passed on, and never forgotten. You can write about family accomplishments, milestones you have overcome together, projects made, and overall how things used to be (in the world without the internet or cell phones).

• Pictures of your grandparent’s wedding

• Pictures of what work in the fields looked like in the past

• Pictures of what family time consisted of in the past

• Pictures of family Christmas get-togethers

• Pictures of old vehicles driven or old tv shows of your grandparent’s time

• Pictures of making your favorite recipe with your grandmother

Do not forget to put in the Grandparent scrapbook, great photos to make her laugh, cry, and reminisce. Showcase her personality. Again, similar to our time capsules we sell, you can also include newspaper clippings about your grandparent, the bandana he or she always used, the candy wrapper showing her favorite sweet, her grandchildren’s artistic drawings, or anything else meaningful to describe her. Make sure to include a journal time line in the scrapbook answering the who, what, when, where, and why the moment was significant, for each photo or note card story you fill out.

After gathering your photos, stories on the colorful note cards, and memorabilia then you can put together your scrapbook pages, along with the additional scrapbook stickers, art, or stamped images to add more character and make the scrapbook a finished product to be proud of.

Presenting the Grandparent Memory Book or Scrapbook

It’s a party. It’s a celebration of life. Make sure you wrap the Grandparent scrapbook, and give it as a gift when you are all gathered around as a family. Also make sure someone video records this milestone moment. You do not know what you have until it is gone. You can even save your scrapbook in a Baby Time Capsule, to give to the next grandchild who is about to be born. What a legacy gift that will be. Get your artistic Baby Time Capsule from http://www.timecapsule.com/product/babystimecapsule/.

Start today and document your family’s history and create a lasting gift for future generations. This is a heritage scrapbook project that keeps on giving.

What is your favorite memory about your grandmother? Comment below.

How to Meet Someone New – You are More than Your Resume Says

As many of you may already know, from reading previous blogs (which my husband and I are still building upon – stay tuned), I met Mark over the internet. We are a family owned business sharing our life, experiences, and help to you about creative ways to use the baby or wedding time capsules, latest trends in the baby and wedding industry, and insights about family and milestone moments in life to preserve and pass on for generation to generation. Mark and I have been to some trade shows with our products, and it is a great place to meet new people. It can be very fun, yet awkward to meet someone new at the same time. Let’s learn more about how to meet someone new.

Your Resume Does Not Define You

Recently I have been trying to advance our business, by participating in business webinars and chats with other entrepreneurs. Like so many others, it feels uncomfortable “selling” yourself, when you meet or talk to someone new. Keep in mind, your resume does not define you. You have far more to offer. To build relationships with others, you have to continually give deposit slips of friendship, knowledge, value, care, etc. No matter where we go, this is why my husband and I try to do, and this is how we started to become excited and want to continually talk to each other more and more.

It is easier for me to genuinely find a common subject first to have a natural conversation first, not to mention it eases me more in the connection, to talk about something from everyday life. This is why many people like sitcoms. We all can relate and they make us laugh. It is hard to tell others who you are without telling them what you do too. However, if you want proof that your resume does not define you, just look at your social media accounts. For example, if you are Pinterest fan, you can understand this. Pinterest is just a billboard offering value everywhere, DIY projects, podcasts, blog help, crafting ideas, food recipes (man I am hungry now LOL). Anyways approach the conversation with social media being popular, so let me “share” something with you that might help you too.

A Time Capsule is like your Resume, Only Better

Hopefully, you are still following what I am saying at this point. If not, feel free to comment below and ask questions. A time capsule, is so much better than your resume, because it fills in the details of the stories in between your stories of what you “do” in life. That is the real reason, why your resume does not define you. We all are humans at our jobs, not robots, with different life stories. A time capsule captures all your stories for years. It is these stories that we want to help you preserve and share with new people you meet in life. For a job interview, we may sound self-centered and look at what the job can do for us, when we should be thinking about what I can do for the company or new friend I just met.

We are All Walking Pinterst Billboards. What is On Your Board That You Have to Offer Others?

When we meet someone new, the usual question is “so what is your story?” Continuing from the conversation about being a Pinterest fan, think about this. If you are an introvert, think about what is on your social media, like Pinterest, and find a common interest to talk about. We are all walking Pinterest billboards. What is on your board that you have to offer others? We usually like to meet new people we can know, like, and trust. Build these three important keys with a new friendship, using your commonalities from social media. I choose to live in a world of paying it forward. I want to share what I know about life, or something that I shared on my Pinterest board or other social media, that may be helpful to a new friend I meet in life.

So, what else is in your time capsule, that you can open (metaphorically speaking) when meeting someone new, whether it is for a job, at a business trade show or seminar, or at a social gathering? You are more than what is listed on your resume. Remember, your resume does not define you. What relationship building goals can you make when you introduce yourself to someone new? Look at this great article, if you want additional tips of what to say and do when you meet someone new at http://www.smallfuel.com/blog/entry/how-to-introduce-yourself-to-someone-youve-never-met/.

Top 10 Reasons to Make a Time Capsule for Alzheimer Patient

Memories are some of the most special moments we want to treasure forever. That is more difficult for us all, as we get older.

“She just does not seem to be all there anymore. She is forgetting more. She is having a hard time recognizing me as her daughter. She is forgetting my name.” – my Aunt complained to my mother over the phone. My aunt was living in Texas with my grandmother, and my mom (her sister) lives in Indiana. It was heart retching knowing there was very little my mother could do, to help my Aunt and Grandmother, in Indiana.

What To Do To Help the Older Generation

Despite our distance, my grandmother and I were close. She prayed for my future husband for years, wherever he was in life, to be ready for me mentally, emotionally, and physically. Her prayers worked as I found “the one.” How could I ever give back to my grandmother who was an Alzheimer patient. I do not wish this problem, or any other memory disorder, on anyone. It is hard to deal with, as family members let alone being the actual person trying to live through this struggle.

How a Memory Box or Time Capsule Helps

Even though my family lived far away from my grandmother, that does not mean we could not help. We helped my Aunt recall memories, wrote down stories we remembered, recorded our voices, and of course as grandchildren created homemade cards for grandma.

A memory box or time capsule can do a similar function to help. What would you put in a memory box to stir up a loved one’s memory, emotions, and thoughts?

A Memory Box or Time Capsule helps us all Recall the Past

Include things like:

• Newspaper clipping of special events, or marriage announcement

• Postcards of places visited

• Favorite recipes (maybe even take the time then to make the recipe together)

• A letter from each of you as family members thanking your loved one for all he or she has done for you.

• Family photos

• Special necklace or watch your loved one constantly used to wear

• Video of your loved one growing up. Go through the video slowly pausing to say each person’s name (especially if they are family members) to help your loved one recall names with faces.

• Hobbies your loved one usually does (for example: a sample of his or her quilt or a golf ball)

• Include items which an Alzheimer’s patient loves or boosts their self-esteem. Things that give your loved one their identity back.

• A memory box or time capsule can help an Alzheimer’s patient on all sensory levels. Include things that relate to all their senses. For example, maybe include their favorite perfume or cologne in a small bottle.

This is a fun activity to do for the family, as much as it is for your loved one to open the memory box or time capsule. You all get to share sentimental moments with each other, bonding closer and inspiring conversation about the nostalgic items. Whatever you include in your memory box or time capsule, make sure it reflects the senior’s loves, interests, and significant or milestone moments in the history of their lives, and has strong meaning to him or her. You may want to include an inventory checklist of each item you include with a tag on each item with the story associated with each nostalgic memento. This will help your loved one be able to read and review things on their own time too.

If everything goes well, memory boxes are a great means to help an alzheimer’s patient, because when a senior sees one memory trigger, it may help them recall another memory to talk about. You may even find out something new about them, that you had no idea about.

A “selfie” is the latest craze word you hear everywhere thanks to cell phones enabling a special camera to take a self picture and then post it to social media to share with friends and family, instantly. A selfie is exactly what you would want to put in a time capsule, especially to represent this time period in our lives, for future generations to know what life was like when we were alive. A selfie is the ultimate time capsule. A selfie is a way of expressing emotion, that you may not have words for, similar to other fun or important photos taken in our lives.

A selfie takes photography and Yourself to a whole new level.

We all need and want to be heard, noticed, and matter in life. We are all unique, precious, and gifted individuals. Who are you? What do you like? How do you spend your time? What are your favorite places to go, things to do, or clothes to wear? What is your favorite meal? Who are your best friends? Do you really watch how you are changing and growing as a person? What important lessons have you learned? When we do not share this information with our family, friends, children, grandchildren, we are neglecting or cheating our ancestors from knowing us.

Everyone has a part in shaping the world we live in, and the direction our children will go. Be selfish and take note of who you are. Take a selfie each year, as you grow in life. Tell a story about yourself each year. Write a “Message to the Future” letter to your children now, about where you see them years from now. Your children will thank you for investing yourself and time into this milestone moment letter they will read, years later in their life. For tips on how to take great selfie pictures, check out http://www.buzzle.com/articles/tips-on-taking-a-great-selfie.html

Life is a Journey

Most people want to see progress in their lives. This is why a time capsule is important. A selfie is just one item (or several items, depending on how many selfies you take), to show this personal progress. There is no need to be famous, or to become famous before taking a selfie. A selfie helps you feel famous. You are famous to someone in your life. Please remember this. You are valuable to someone. You may not feel like it some days, but your children will definitely thank you years later, and think you are famous.

So go ahead, take that selfie. Put it in a time capsule. Get ready to open it years later and have a few laughs with your children. You could even save your selfie as a new mother and father with your baby, then take an end selfie when your child graduates high-school. What differences will you see in your before and after photos of yourselves. Then, put your photos as parents of your child, in a Baby Time Capsule, along with other memorabilia you preserved, and give it to your grown child now on their Graduation day. What a special moment this will be when he or she opens their own Baby Time Capsule to see what life was like when he or she was born or what you were like as parents.

A selfie. It just may be one of the most important pictures you have ever taken, for yourself or for someone else.

A time capsule. It just may be one of the most important projects you have ever done, for yourself or for someone else.

What is your favorite selfie you have done? Comment below or post your selfie in the comments. We want to see your selfies.

Top Unique Baby Shower Gifts of 2013

Last year is over, but let’s review what was popular, as far as baby shower gifts.

So you have another baby shower coming up to go to. It can get boring, shopping for the same gift each time. Why not find a great website to go to with a list of top unique baby showers gifts of 2013. Then, you know that your gift is trending and will be less likely to be returned, after you spent all that time finding the “perfect” gift.

I was sitting in my living room, thinking I am snowed in. I do not want to get out to go shopping for this gift. It could take me all day to find that special gift. So I used the internet to shop, like so many people are today. I found the following website to help, and found a memorable gift for my friend. Check it out at: http://www.uncommongoods.com/lists/2013-uncommongoods-baby-gift-guide.

For all of you who are curious, I really like the Birth Announcement Pillow. This will be such a great gift for years to come. Then the mother will not have to remember what time her baby was born, when she/he is grown up and asks mama that special question so she knows exactly when her/his birthday was. Just cheat and look at the pillow as a reminder.

Similar to this pillow, our Baby Time Capsule captures the important details in the Profile Book, which is included in the Time Capsule. Write down important dates and times of milestone moments for your child, like the first time she/he ate solid food, crawled, walked, etc. Also keep those favorite baby toys in the time capsule, so when she/he opens the memorable gift, everyone can laugh, cry, and tell the story of when she/he was born. What a fun day that will be.

Take a look at the up-close pictures of the Baby Time Capsule on our website at www.timecapsule.com.
